Person taken to hospital after Fairfield shooting, police investigating

FAIRFIELD, Calif. — One person was shot and taken to the hospital in Fairfield Friday evening, police say. 

The Fairfield Police Department says the shooting happened in the area of Dover Avenue and San Remo Street. One person was taken to the hospital, but their condition is unknown at this time. 

Police are on scene and are asking those in the area to follow police orders or avoid the area all together. 

Police say there is no known threat to the public at this time. No other information is available and an investigation is ongoing.
