Pedestrian dead in Bay Point after being hit by vehicle

BAY POINT — A pedestrian died Sunday night after being hit by a vehicle, the California Highway Patrol said.

Authorities did not identify the person early Monday.

The collision happened on Willow Pass Road at Poinsettia Avenue about 9:25 p.m., according to the CHP.

Initial reports confirmed by the CHP said the vehicle involved was a black SUV. The driver of that vehicle remained at the scene, the agency said. No other details were immediately available.
