A man was killed and a woman hospitalized after both were shot at a Sacramento apartment complex on Friday afternoon, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said. The man died after being shot in the chest, spokesperson Sgt. Amar Gandhi said. The woman was expected to survive after being taken to the hospital by others, he said. Both people were in their 20s or 30s.The shooting happened in a neighborhood along Annadale Lane off of Watt and Edison avenues just before 2 p.m. near the apartment complex’s pool, Gandhi said. He said about a dozen people were in the same area when the shooting happened. “It looks like everyone knew each other in some capacity,” Gandhi said. He said there were some cooperative witnesses and investigators are trying to figure out the relationships between everyone who was there. There is no suspect information. Homicide detectives are on the scene. Gandhi said the area is not usually a place where deputies are called for shooting incidents. This is a developing story.
