SACRAMENTO POLICE ARE ASKING FOR THE PUBLIC’S HELP TONIGHT TO FIND THE DRIVER WHO KILLED AN 18 YEAR OLD EARLIER THIS MONTH, SHAWN JORDAN WAS HIT BY A CAR ON JUNE 15TH WHILE HE WAS WALKING IN THE BIKE LANE ALONG WALERGA ROAD. OFFICIALS SAY THE SUSPECTED VEHICLE LOOKS SIMILAR TO THIS ONE, SO TAKE A GOOD LOOK. THEY SAY IT’S A FOUR DOOR 1998 TO 2002 TOYOTA COROLLA, POSSIBLY RED IN COLOR. THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE RIGHT FRONT END DAMAGE, A BROKEN HEADLIGHT, AND POSSIBLY A BROKEN WINDSHIELD AND A BROKEN RIGHT SIDE MIRROR.

An 18-year-old man was hit and killed by a car while walking home along Walerga Road earlier this month, and the California Highway Patrol has now shared a description of the car believed to be at fault.(Watch previous coverage in the video player above.)On June 15, Shawn Jordan was hit by a car while he was walking in the bike lane next to the guardrail just before sunset. He later died from his injuries. The car that hit him kept driving.On Monday, officials said the suspected vehicle is a four-door 1998 to 2002 Toyota Corolla, possibly red in color. The vehicle would have right front-end damage, a broken headlight, possibly a broken windshield and possibly a broken right-side mirror.The car was last seen driving northbound on Walerga Road, south of Penwith Way.Anyone with information is asked to call North Sacramento CHP at 916-348-2300.“Somebody has to know something; the CHP is involved; call them,” said Jordan’s mother, Marie Martinez. “We just want answers and justice for Shawn.”See more coverage of top California stories here | Download our app.
