1 person injured and unresponsive after falling into Angel Falls in Madera County, deputies say

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) — Search and rescue efforts are underway at Angel Falls in Madera County.

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office says they are trying to reach and rescue one person who is unresponsive after going into the water. They are still searching for an additional person who is still missing after going into the water.

They responded with a large amount of personnel Wednesday morning.

Deputies also responded to a second search and rescue call near Lewis Creek, which is near Angel Falls.

In that rescue, one person needed to be carried out of the water after suffering a broken leg.

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to avoid the area if possible and to use caution.
