1 dead, 3 hospitalized following overnight crash in Tracy

One person has died and three more were hospitalized following an overnight crash in Tracy early Sunday morning.It happened east of Chrisman Road on I-580 at approximately 1:04 a.m. According to California Highway Patrol, a Toyota sedan was traveling eastbound on the interstate when the driver lost control of the vehicle during a turn. The sedan crossed the median into the westbound lanes of I-580, striking the guardrail before colliding with the freeway perimeter fence.The front passenger of the vehicle sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and right rear passenger were transported to San Joaquin General Hospital with major injuries. The left rear passenger was transported to Sutter Tracy with minor injuries.CHP does not suspect alcohol or drugs to have contributed to the cause of the crash.Anyone who witnessed this incident is asked to call the Tracy Area CHP Office at 209-319-4300.See more coverage of top California stories here | Download our app.
