1 dead, 1 injured after being shot while walking in La Puente

Two people were shot while walking in Los Angeles County early Sunday morning, authorities said. 

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the shooting occurred just after 3:50 a.m. at the intersection of Amar Road and Witzman Drive, near the La Puente and Valinda city lines.

Both victims, who were walking together when gunshots rang out, were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment; one was pronounced dead upon arrival while the other is in stable condition, Sgt. Brent Del Valle of the Industry Sheriff’s Station confirmed to KTLA. 

It is not known if the shooting was gang-related, and the victims have only been identified as two Hispanic men between the ages of 30 and 45.
